Dr. Raghunath Sahoo did his MSc. in Physics with Particle Physics as his specialization from Utkal University, Bhubaneswar in 1999. He received his Ph.D. in Experimental High Energy Heavy Ion Collisions (Quark Gluon Plasma) (in the STAR Experiment at RHIC, Brookhaven National Laboratory, USA) from Institute of Physics, Bhubaneswar in 2007.
He was a CNRS postdoctoral fellow in Subatech, France and INFN Fellow in INFN Padova, Italy before joining IIT Indore as an Assistant Professor in 2010. He has been associated with the LHC experiment at CERN Geneva through his active participation in the ALICE Experiment. Presently, he is the team leader in ALICE experiment from IIT Indore. He has been a visiting scientist in University of Cape Town, South Africa and Institute of Physics, Bhubaneswar. He has co-authored a review articleon Global Properties of Quark Gluon Plasma which has appeared as a chapter in a book published by Springer. He has also co-authored more than 100 papers in international journals both in STAR and ALICE collaborations and many papers in QGP phenomenology. His research interests have been to study the global properties of Quark Gluon Plasma and Heavy Flavor production in relativistic heavy ion collisions.
