Master of Arts (M.A.)
Applicants must have a minimum of two years of work experience in a reputed Industrial or Research Organization.
- The NOC from the competent authority must state that the sponsoring organization shall fully relieve the candidate of duties during the required course work (for Part-Time) or the entire duration (for Full-Time) of the academic program.
- Officials sponsored by the Central Government, State Government, and PSUs are exempted from submitting a sponsorship letter but must submit the NOC and other required documents.
Part-time Sponsored category students will have to complete the required course work on a full-time residential basis.
Candidates may be permitted to have one thesis/reporting supervisor from their parent organization after consent from the Principal Thesis Supervisor at IIT Indore. The external supervisor must meet specific qualification criteria (e.g., Ph.D. with a minimum of 5 years post-Ph.D. experience, or PG qualification with 10 years experience).
- Exempted from GATE qualification (COAP registration is not required).
- Not entitled to any payment of fellowship or stipend during the entire academic program.
- IIT Indore retains exclusive copyright on the Ph.D./PG thesis, and patents will be governed by the IPR policy of IIT Indore.
Candidates under this category should be actively serving officers in the Defense Forces of India.
Applicants must send the following original documents along with a copy of the application form to the concerned Program coordinator:
- Form for Sponsorship letter.
- Form for No-Objection Certificate (NOC).
- Form for the employer for candidates joining on study leave.
- Form for selecting a Co-Supervisor from the sponsoring organization (if applicable).
The submitted NOC must explicitly declare that the candidate will be fully relieved from their defense duties to pursue the required coursework or the entire duration of the academic program.
The applicant must be a permanent Institute employee who has served for at least two years at the time of application.
The candidate is required to submit an NOC from the Head of the concerned department or section clearly stating that:
- The candidate is allowed to pursue the academic program on a part-time basis.
- The admission to the academic program will not affect the discharging of their assigned duties from the Institute.
The Institute expects at least one year of continuous service from the employee starting from the date of completion of the PG program.
The Institute reserves the right to cancel or renew the admission to the PG/Ph.D. program in case there is a change in the candidate's employment status.
