Master of Technology (M.Tech)
1. GATE Exemption (SW, DF, IS Categories)
Applicants under the following categories are exempt from GATE and do not need to register on COAP:
- SW (Sponsored)
- DF (Defence Forces)
- IS (Institute Staff)
2. Scholarship Policy
No scholarships are provided to applicants under:
- SW
- DF
- IS
- International categories
3. Dual Degree Option
Some PG programs offer an option to upgrade to dual degree:
- M.Tech. + PhD
- MS (Research) + PhD
This option is available during the fourth semester, subject to eligibility.
4. Category & PwD Certificate Requirement
Applicants belonging to the following categories must upload valid certificates:
- OBC-NCL
- EWS
- SC
- ST
- PwD (Persons with Benchmark Disability)
5. Certificate Validity Guidelines
- Certificates must be issued by authorized officials only
For OBC-NCL & EWS:
- Must be issued on or after April 1, 2025, OR
- Must be valid as on March 31, 2026
- If not valid → applicant will be treated as Unreserved (UR)
- Prescribed formats:
- OBC-NCL → Annexure V
- EWS → Annexure VII
6. Required Documents (Upload Format: JPG / JPEG / PNG)
Applicants must upload scanned copies of:
- 10th & 12th marksheets and certificates
- Qualifying degree marksheets and certificates
- Category certificate (if applicable)
- Valid GATE scorecard (2026 / 2025 / 2024)
7. Application Fee (Non-Refundable)
- UR / OBC-NCL / EWS: ₹800
- SC / ST / PwD / Female: ₹400
8. Additional Requirements for SW / DF / IS Applicants
Applicants must send original documents + copies to the concerned Program Coordinator:
- Sponsorship Letter Form
- No Objection Certificate (NOC)
- Co-Supervisor Form (if applicable)
- Employer Consent Form (for study leave cases under SW/DF)
Copies must also be submitted as per departmental requirements.
9. Admission Confirmation
- Selected candidates will receive provisional admission
- Final admission is subject to physical verification of documents
(MEQ, QE, category, etc.) during registration at the institute
MARKS /CGPA/ CPI/ PERCENTAGE REQUIREMENTS IN QUALIFYING DEGREES@:
For UR/EWS/OBC(NCL) category:
A minimum of 60% marks in aggregate, OR
A First class as specified by the university, OR
A minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) / Cumulative Performance Index (CPI) of 6.0 on a scale of 0 – 10, OR
An equivalent to 6.0 CGPA/ CPI on other corresponding proportional requirements when the scales are other than 0 – 10.
For SC/ST/PwD category:
A minimum of 55% marks in aggregate, OR
A First class as specified by the university, OR
A minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) / Cumulative Performance Index (CPI) of 5.5 on a scale of 0 – 10, OR
An equivalent to 5.5 CGPA/ CPI on other corresponding proportional requirements when the scales are other than 0 – 10.
